A Militia is a citizens army. Not a professional Army. Therefore it is an individual right to own basic firearms, not anything in a military arsenal.

Automatic weapons are a subject of debate. Obviously no such weapons existed when the constitution was writen.

Militia is not a degree of being a military, it IS the military. It simply derives its forces from different means.

If automatic weapons were available during the revolution, do you REALLY think that the founders would choose to hamstring our defense and leave our soldiers/citizens twisting in the wind with inferior weapons!?

Do you doubt that a militia would disband or desert before battle if they were not ALLOWED to carry weapons that were not in the same class as their enemies?

you be amazed at a bomb that could be made from less than $100 dollars of home depot parts. Basically this has been the type of threat that we have been dealing with in Iraq.
