I just find it amusing how Ron Paul was labeled a racist due to someone donating $500 to his campaign.

Obama has a racist working in his campaign and he was his mentor and Obama is still a saint.

No it doesn't. It involves redefining the word Racist to exclude prejudice and injects quantifiers of subordinate groups and dominate groups. I took a course called "The Psychology of the Black Experience" and the professor was a racist, but tried to say she wasn't because she was black and went on for weeks destroying definitions of words to justify racism against white people. Only in academia can whites only be racist. If you follow the logic far enough only white males can be racist. It's extremely ignorant if you ask me.

Blacks can't be mad at whites over continued racism by the upper class of america that enslaved them, segregated them, and up this day denies them land, homes, jobs, etc

there are many levels here and it's a very complicated issue and i have 0 hope that anything substantive will come out of this recent turn of the thread

Rich White People© head off to the country club every weekend, pens, paper, and white boards in hand and draw up plans to deny them from buying land, getting houses, and finding jobs. You figured out the system. My g/f's dad has taken me once. You should see it. We have all those "dark" people serving us brandy and cigars while we sit and plan their destruction.

They are all direct decendents of the 18th century slave owners as well. Not one person moved into the upper class in the last 150 years. Total class stagnation.

I've tried to find the essay I read and I can't. The gist of it was not that only whites can be racist but that only people controlling power can be...and it just happens that whites control the power here so only they can be racist here. I don't remember it mentioning other places but I'd assume it draws the conclusion only japanese could be racist in japan, and only blacks could be racist in (fill in predominantly black country).

Again, I didn't agree with it but it did make some sense.

and if you want to ignore a lengthy and well documented history of white banking and real estate going all out to prevent upper-middle class black families from moving into their area...

Yea the controlling class/ruling class (dominate group) can only be racist to the victims (subordinate group). That has absolutely nothing to do with racism. It's an invented academic argument to mitigate the hatred of whites in their communities.

This is a really hard point for libertarians, because it shows yet another reason a free market doesn't work: an unregulated market is racist...white people will choose, to their own economic detriment, to keep out black people from their neighborhoods

what kind of person would think "fuck, this place has great security, the landscape is amazing, the houses are gorgeous, but fuck, its full of white people, can i see something with smaller houses and crappier lawns?"

is it not racism when (centra/south americans who aren't mexican) do it to anyone who is mexican?
is it not racism when southern (dot) indians do it to northern indians?

there's a fine line between racism and "controlling class/subordinate class".....especially when (here) controlling class is white and subordinate class is black.

The best all that for what they can afford. Money is the deciding factor here. Beyond that, the further we progress away from a racist society, the more integrated all neighborhoods will be. The only reason what lew says still holds true is that there are still large portions of minority poor people. They will group in the same area because they have no choice. As individuals break away, they will move to the next tier of housing, integrating it. Then the next and so on.

It takes a lot of time to repair the damage inflicted by our racist past. The fact that neighborhoods are becoming more and more integrated is testament to the fact that racism has dwindled greatly, because no longer are the poor minorities as limited in job and locale.
