It takes a lot of time to repair the damage inflicted by our racist past. The fact that neighborhoods are becoming more and more integrated is testament to the fact that racism has dwindled greatly, because no longer are the poor minorities as limited in job and locale.

actually they won't break away because their movement will be blocked by racist white people

You think it's natural to be racist, i agree, which is why free market can never work in a society where there are different races

Liking other people who are like you and have things in common with you is not racist.

That video wasn't meant to be taken in the context of the show. I just thought it was a funny song: "We're moving on up (moving on up)"

I don't recall the Ron Paul story, but I don't doubt it.

Do Democrats understand how this is going to make any similar attacks on McCain look pathetic to most people? Go ahead and post that pick of him with Strom Thurmund. He is just this old guy he had to hang around with in the Senate Ya know.

Why do they need to do similar attacks? McCain already digs his own grave. 100 years of Iraq, admission of economic incompetence, lies and/or ignorance about Al Qaeda and Iran, scandal, there's more than enough to choose from without having to manufacture controversy like what they're doing to Obama.

hardly

-100 years of Iraq: most people don't think there's anything wrong with, and probably something a lot right with, us still being in korea. and most believe we went to iraq so we shouldn't leave until it's done.

-admission of economic incompetence: so it's ok to say obama is going to surround himself with experts and that's fine, but mccain can't do the same?

-lies and/or ignorance about Al Qaeda and Iran: lies? show me "lies" he told that nobody else told. show me ignorance he had that nobody else had.

-scandal: keating? there was no evidence against him.

so what were you saying?

Even Obama seems to be over the 100 Years in Iraq talking points. Like it is not very clear what he meant to reasonable people?

I heard today that the Obama record on Iraq is not so neat and clean. At the time Baghdad fell he said he might have been wrong about his opposition.

^Everything in that photo has happened. Racists are out there, but if they want to be racists, they can. I completely disagree with them. Black people have every right to be outraged about there past. Slavery is wrong. Being predigest and the KKK is wrong. Hanging is wrong. Segregated bathrooms, lockers, restaurants, etc. is wrong.

A person of the opposite race not understanding why black people have this angst is ignorant. I find the comic to be extreme, but he has the right to publish that and it's his opinion. I do find it stereotyping, he could've ended it with Obama being sworn into the Presidency to show how America could come along. But what do I know?

I didn't say otherwise.

I don't think he should have to back away from it. Rev. Wright was only saying what most African-Americans feel. With all the discrimination they have faced (unequal justice in the courts, Katrina, the Tuskagee Syphilis Experiment, Jim Crow laws, etc), they are justified in believing that Whites are out to get them. Just read books like The Plexus Agenda by Andre Lewis and you'll really identify with what Barack Obama was talking about. This country needs to do some serious healing and electing a Black man as President would be a great start.

Black people have a right to be angry, but does that give them a right to public displays of their own racism without question? I do not think Obama shares the views of Rev Wright. I think he has done a great job of not running as a black candidate. The problem with this story is that it shows even Obama is a politician and has kept some bad company because of political necessity. It becomes more of an honesty issue than a race issue to me.

Of course a black person has the right to display there outrage to the public. Does that mean we agree with what is said? I don't. I just felt if the ending was different, instead of having "typical mid-south racist redneck white guy who watches news" at the end, he could've have had Obama being sworn into the presidency. Just bad writing on the comic strips part. That message would've been much more powerful and wouldn't piss off others.

It sounds like you think the Presidency is something that's owed to the black community though. It isn't.

The best person should always be in the Oval Office, regardless of their color or religion or whatever.
