| Classifying yourself politically. A lot of people I know tend to classify themselves based on where they stand on social and economic issues. My parents say that they're "socially liberal, fiscally conservative", which I suppose they are. I have a hard time doing that though, it seems that my differences are a matter of location. I think of my self as a Democrat when it comes to domestic issues, but I shift right on most foreign policy/international issues. Anyone else? Or am I fucking crazy. | ||||

| I find myself "left" when it comes to domestic stuff as well. Whether its economy, business, labor, welfare, etc. (this doesnt mean i think everything is peacy with social programs and all that, i just agree with it in a general principle way) I find myself with Sean Hannity on immigration. I find myself caught in the middle on the military. I find myself "left" on spending only becaues i believe if we are going to spend the money we should have a tax or some way to pay for it. Debt spending the republican way must end immediatly. | ||||

| Republicans aren't the only masters of deficit-spending. Remember that. | ||||

| I think of myself as socially progressive and economically conservative to an extent. I believe greatly in personal responsibility but I also think an enlightened society should work torwards removing things like poverty. I think classification ultimately depends on the ruler being used to measure.. are we using where Republicans stand now to measure "conservatism"? Because if so I'd have to reclassify myself from economically conservative to something different.. seeing how if you use the real definition of "conservative", the current people in power can't really be described as such. | ||||
