Caribbean vacation in 2 days!

$4k ain't bad at all tbh. I don't think I'd want to do Bahamas though, probably St. Lucia.

And Mel and I are both 100% against cruises.

Care to elaborate on the cruises?

I'm wondering if 4k is a waste because it includes unlimited premium drniks...and we don't drink

I dunno...apparently extensive skuba diving will cost extra, but im not sure how much...once we're there and they hotel has their expert certify us for 30ft, how much could 3 days of diving cost?

I went to Sandals Halcyon and a friend went to Sandals St. Lucia. They're both on St. Lucia but Halcyon has something like 100 rooms and St. Lucia has somewhere around 400 rooms. We wanted quiet and relax so we picked the smaller one and were happy for it. My friend was at the smaller one but moved to the bigger one during the week because he and his wife thought it was "too boring."

Funny, 12 years later my wife and I are still happy and he got divorced after 6 years.

And Mel and I are both 100% against cruises.

We went on one and had fun, but not enough fun to make it worth spending that kind of money again on a cruise.

You can only scuba dive so many times in a day, and that is dependent on how deep you go and how long you stay down. So there's no way to know how much it would cost since they charge per dive.

i went in Tortola with a place called Aquaventure. they just started diving in this new place by Norman island that has a newly discovered sunken pirate ship. you have to be certified to dive it, which i'm not, but it sounded pretty cool. they were the only ones who have rights to dive there.......

That's funny we went to Sandals St Lucia too. We stayed at the Grand St Lucian and after we went to the Halcyon for dinner one night we kinda wished that we had stayed there. Did you guys do any of those tours?

Halfway through the 2nd day the employees were greeting people by their first name. It was very nice.

Did you guys do any of those tours?

We did a one-hour cooking "class" (not sure why), went on a snorkel trip to a reef, and took a bus downtown but only stayed for about 30 minutes. We didn't go to the volcano or the rain forest because (I think) they were half day tours and we didn't want to spend that much time away from the pool/beach.

Basically we went because we wanted to hang at the resort, relax, sit in a hammock or jacuzzi or beach chair, and veg. We did the other stuff because we figured if we didn't then we'd get back and think "I can't believe we went there and didn't see/do anything."

I took this picture at the Halcyon the night we went for dinner. They had this little place setting setup on the beach when we were walking by.

Is the Pier restaurant behind you to your right? If so that's pretty much where we spent 75% of our time. We'd go to the bar about 100' behind where you took the picture and get a pitcher or margaritas (during the day) or bottle of wine and two glasses (at night) and then go sit on the beach right about there and play "It's your turn to ask a question."


edit: this is where we spent most of our time, maybe a little further south but that's close
