I am starting to get forwards from my mother. The kinds of forwards that say
"this was what Andy Rooney said on TV last week!" And then it's filled with some ignorant racist drivel that you know was never uttered on network TV.

ugh. I sen't back a sort of snippity e-mail, I hope she doesn't get mad.
I said
" You know that Andy Rooney never said any of this ignorant redneck garbage right? "

lol, my mom and mother-in-law both send forwards too. I got one from my mother in law about how Obama is a dangerous terrorist sent to America to destroy it from the inside. My mom sends more of the "this is why God is good" type forwards... also chain emails.

my mom has been sending me chainmails for YEARS. the other day she sent me one with pictures of a drunken car crash, with body parts strewn all over the street. i asked her why she felt it was necessary, and she told me it was just a reminder that i shouldnt drink and drive. i asked her how i could even pull that off if i wanted too, being that i dont own a car.

My mom is pretty good about that sort of stuff, she's only ever really forwarded me news story that I saw like 5 days earlier.

yeah, that's my dad's cousin. she sents all that jesus and red state crap. now i don't mind regular red state crap, but when she gets into the Obama is a terrorist and is muslim and other ignorance and christian this and christian that.. i'm like, dude. seriously.

i wonder what she'd do if i just replied to her one day that I'm pagan and would appreciate it if she stopped sending me christian rhetoric.

I told my mom that anything she gets through a chain email is almost always 100% false 100% of the time. Never forward that crap to me.

When someone does send me a forward, like hsmith said, I just snopes it and reply back.

I have a theory that someone spends all day thinking up those things to pass around on the internet so people keep forwarding them only so they can collect the e-mails. Then they sell/use those e-mails from all those caring people who thought they were helping some cause or expressing compassion and send all those junk mails we all hate so much.
O yeah I forgot to mention all the lovely virus that get attached to them as they travel the internet.

my mom used to send semi-christian/religious stuff to the family. finally my sis-in-law replied to one with "you know I'm jewish, right?" of course my mom knew but she wasn't sending it because it was religious, she was sending it because of the "love your neighbor" message.

Thats the funny part. She sends it to like the whole family. My aunt( on my fathers side) is married to a guy who is originally from Columbia. His parents don't speak english. Also one of my cousins is gay and she copied everyone on this crap. Hopefully these people don't take too much offense.

My mother was never like this before. It's only in the last maybe 5-7 years she has grown into this kinda uppity know it all who dismisses everyone elses opinion. She literally won't even listen if you disagree with her. She will just keep saying "OK, UP, SURE" loudly over whatever you are trying to tell her. It's maddening. She also has developed this disdain for men. Men are stupid and only good for opening jars and mowing the lawn in her world.

Not sure what her deal is.
