Congresswoman Sheila Jackson is going to have a hard time getting re-elected

This story isn't too popular just yet, but there is some video of it floating around the internet lately. Obama won her district overwhelming, winning 90% of the vote. Yet Sheila Jackson, gave a speech to her district essentially giving her super delegate vote to Hillary Clinton. Let's just say it took a while for the boos and Obama chants to quiet down before you could hear her. She eventually said something like "That's ok, I'll wait for you" or something to that effect. Once the crowd died down a bit she continued her speech with sporadic boos. She then decided to quote Maya Angelou which was likely received as a racial gesture to appease people who were upset with her voting against Obama. Whatever her reasoning for quoting a black female author, the crowd didn't approve and immediately started to boo once again.

Here's some video references

I think she may very well have shot her political career in the foot. And it begs the question, how will other super delegates in similar positions as her vote in the future after seeing this? I think these people sent a clear message to super delegates of districts who voted for Obama.

I don't know much about her. I saw some video of her on the news regarding this and she seemed like a good person who was just being loyal to a friend. I didn't think anything negative of her, but I have never had a personal encounter with her.

It's her vote, she's a super delegate. She can do with it as she wishes. But I don't think she'll have an easy time of being re-elected given the overwhelming support her district has with Obama.

Should they?

Why is this being a traitor?

If most of the super delegates should vote with the popular majority in a close race why have them at all? Just say the candidate with the most delegates wins and that is that!

I missed that she was a superdelegate. Because hillary has been on tv lately saying even pledged delegates can vote for whomever they want.

BTW, I've been asking "why have (superdelegates) at all?" for years and haven't gotten a decent answer.

since I've never voted for a democrat, superdelegates have never canceled my vote.

I wasn't exaggerating, it was designed because party elites didn't want party members to select a candidate that they felt would not win.

No, it means I'm slightly embarrassed to say that kg is 100% correct.
