| Several differnt shotguns, 12ga, 16ga and 20ga for several differnt kinds of hunting. The same for rifles, most in the .30 cal range, several WW2 era military rifles, some older military firearms one (yes only one) hand gun and three .22 rifles and actually as my son just pointed out I voted wrong as it's more than 12 so I guess I should have chosen the "frigging armory." | ||||

| Great, thank you all who posted. Now, a simple post can get us to the next part of this (as I can not seem to post multiple polls on the same thread, damn software) Of those that own, what do you use your firearms for? 1. Hunting 2. Sport shooting 3. Home defense 4. More than one of the above or all (if #3 is included in your reason for owning please note it in your response). I am sorry if I am slow, I am normally busy during the week, and can only post regularly on the weekends. Hs, the P22 is a good range gun. I have been thinking about getting one so I do not spend so much on ammo, and the XD is a fine piece. I have never been much of a fan of shotguns for much more than door breaching or killing birds. .30s are a good long gun, and I am a big fan. Also as you will find (I plan on being here for a while) .45 ACP or .45+P is my round of choice for defense. One question, what was it with ACE? I tried to PM him, but apparently I do not have that ability yet. | ||||

the XD 45 is great, I carry it every day. I have only had two FTE's ever with it and they were when i used different ammo. I have probably put 2000 rounds through it. I will ditch it as a carry gun when I get the Baer though, I want a full size 1911 for daily carry - such a solid design. For #3, I carry because the world isn't a nice place, as much as people like to pretend it is. Police are 30 minutes away no matter where you call them. They are under no obligation to protect you as the courts have ruled time and time again. I don't hunt, but I might get back into it. I might shoot ground hogs once my AR is done. I want to get a bolt action rifle eventually, but I am in no rush. My main concern is buying what can be banned... My cousin is big into hunting deer, but he has a crop damage permit and shoots as many as he wants. I plan to get into IPSC soon, I am working on my speed shooting (i know you don't need to be a pro to start). It looks like a fun practical hobby. I also am going to start reloading here soon. Ammo is just getting too expensive. If i plan to start shooting several thousand rounds a month, gotta

| I really want a FA, but I don't have $16,000 to buy a M16 Ill have to settle for my AR-15. I hope to crank out at least one more by years end, sooner if the dem's look like they will win :-\ Last edited by hsmith; 04-08-2008 at 08:53 PM. | ||||

I really liked the 1911 type pistol, I was first introduced to them when I was attached to Force years ago, and the ICQB pistol as well, and continued to carry it while I was attached to 1st MSOB. But I prefer the Glocks. Call it personal preference if you want, but that is just me. I do not want to worry about condition three or condition one when I have to pull. the SAP is nice too because it is one less thing to worry about when you are already stressed (and stress hits everyone regardless of how much you train). I used to CCW a Kimber CDP, but sold it for the G36 for ease of carry. For home defense you simply can not beat a weapon like the Bushmaster chambered in 5.56 firing M193. Core separation with no exit is a good thing when someone is in your home. Thanks man, and if you do not mind I would like to add you. Hs, I have a civ model that I will sell ya for much much cheaper. All full does is wastes rounds.
