| I'm pissed, did you know he gave away Ontario/Quebec's southern portions...where almost all their GDP and population resides...because he wanted stronger fishing rights... Canada couldn't viably exist without it...we'd have a much larger country today, and a bigger economy | ||||

| Hamilton>Jefferson I say Hamilton was a bit of an asshole yes but he was a lot smarter than Jefferson. Jefferson was a sniveling pro-French radical and if he ever got his way we would be like Germany was for the last 800 years you know a fragmented confederation. Hamilton isnt the best politician that ever exisited but he was one of the better ones. He may have thought he was better than everyone else well he did want what was best for this country and some consolidation of power was necessary early on to preserve the union. Hamilton was even a strong advocate of abolition while Jefferson said he hated slavery and then went ahead and paid workers in slaves which renovating Monticello to look more French. Oh and speaking of deserving Americans for documentaries how come Theodore Roosevelt isnt on the list he was the first progressive president. William Jennings Bryan never actually accomplished anything but win a court case and then die a week or so later. Last edited by T.R.; 04-16-2008 at 01:13 AM. | ||||

| No what T.R. believed was that the executive branch needed to get involved doy. Every president from Grant-Mckinley just sat back and let congress pass crappy laws that killed the consumers and workers. Also he realized before even Wilson did that you cant bust all the trusts. There were bad trusts and good trusts. A bad trust takes advantage of its position and also treats it workers like crap and a good trust uses its position as a way to hire more workers they charge the consumers fair prices and make good product or at least decent product and the working conditions dont suck! | ||||
