| How long after an article has been removed does it take for google to stop posting it Case in point An article, talking about a friend of mine, was taken down from bnet and all other archive services now, whenever you google phrases or titles of the article, there is only one link, and it is to bnet, which states: This requested article does not exist. However, in the google search, the first few introductory sentences, including names/date/personal information...still exists so google comes back with a link to the article, and "preview" which has sentences, but the link itself has removed the article When, if ever, will that stop? | ||||

| Google indexes for a while. Maybe this will help. How can I prevent my own content from being indexed or remove content from Google's index? Google does everything by robots, and you can talk to them to tell them what to do if you are the webmaster. | ||||

| In my experience it will take a few weeks for them to recognize it and then it will go away. Same thing happened to me personally. The web site I wanted gone finally lapsed and it was not renewed but it was still the top 3 google search for the info. I watched it everyday and it took about two weeks before it finally went away. Same thing where the description mentioned me etc but when you clicked on it the link was dead. I was happy when it finally disappeared! | ||||

| Submit a request to the admins. If they removed the post/thread/article/whatever for a good reason, then forcing it out of Google Index for the same reason may be needed. | ||||

| Don't contact google, their robots do everything. If the admin of bnet or whatever site the information was on puts in a robots.txt as outlined in the previously linked document, they could get rid of the information. | ||||
