I agree cold stone is pretty damn good...

My favorite of the big brands is probably Haagen Dazs...but the top three or four are pretty close IMO.

We have a couple locals that are pretty good too. Braums has some great ice cream and Maggie Moo's makes great super premium ice cream, but maggie's is pretty expensive.

my fiancee is lactose intolerant, and im not a fan of junk food

so...I have no idea what any of those brands taste like as I've never tasted them (I did have ice cream as a child, but we lived in a small town in PA so it was a local ice cream shop, the kind that pours out of a machine into a cone)

Cold Stone is incredibly.....I'm addicted. Thank god we don't have one near me in Philly or I'd go as often as I do when I'm in Buffalo (aka would be fat ).

Also, for general dessert confectionary goodness, here in Philly we have Naked Chocolate Cafe, called one of the top 10 chocolate shops in the world. If you want dessert, you simply are not going to beat it.

local place that makes their own ice cream is my fav. I don't think Ben & Jerry's or Haagen Dazs are anything special.

Maybe I'll try cold stone next time I walk by one.

Anyone tried "the ice cream of teh future" ? The taste isn't anything special but the texture is kinda cool. It's worth trying once.

I've been wanting to try some of Ben & Jerry's Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream

The flavor, Stephen Colbert’s AmeriCone Dream™ is a decadent melting pot of vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl. It’s the sweet taste of liberty in your mouth.
