Minus Indiana, I think all the blue states here will go blue in 2008

Can someone say, Civil War? (Also add Maryland and Delaware)

Union States v. The Rest of the Country

Union wins...again

Did any of you think about that? In 2000 if Gore would have won NH, lost NM (like Kerry did) he would have had a similiar looking map...would anyone have said how the Union States of 1860 are controlling the nation just like they did 148 yeras ago?

I really dislike the idea that an area of land votes. Dirt does not vote. People vote. The vast majority of the population in the US lives in the north east and on the west coast. The majority of the population is controlling the country. It seems reasonable.

Majority controlling the country? I disagree, the EC takes away a bunch from the majority power - a 100K people in NY can vote for a Republican candidate and their votes don't count, same if 100K vote Demo in Texas, this type of voting structure demoralizes voters of minority parties in big states and makes smaller "swing" states more important.

Moreover, equal suffrage in the Senate ensures smaller populations in states get more for their tax money than bigger states. It's telling that the citizens in Kansas got more funds per capita to fight terrorism than in NY, the place that got attacked twice.

Not to mention the primary process starting in Iowa and NH - by the time it gets to a big state, most of the candidates have dropped out leaving us with only a couple choices.

Majority has power? Na, I think the minority does, boat loads of it.
