| I really dislike the idea that an area of land votes. Dirt does not vote. People vote. The vast majority of the population in the US lives in the north east and on the west coast. The majority of the population is controlling the country. It seems reasonable. | ||||

Moreover, equal suffrage in the Senate ensures smaller populations in states get more for their tax money than bigger states. It's telling that the citizens in Kansas got more funds per capita to fight terrorism than in NY, the place that got attacked twice. Not to mention the primary process starting in Iowa and NH - by the time it gets to a big state, most of the candidates have dropped out leaving us with only a couple choices. Majority has power? Na, I think the minority does, boat loads of it.
