^I hate Alex Jones with a passion. All he does is get on the side of Sensationalists so he can make money. You ever been to his website? Sponsors selling garbage like how to make your car run on H2O? All these conspiracy theorists are in the business of making money, and in the end people follow these conspiracy theorists like sheep (Though they'll call you a sheep, how ironic.) and one of my good friends who is a smart-guy fell into this stupid, stupid, stupid conspiracy theory of the WTC being brought down by controlled demolition.

Amazon.com: Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can't Stand Up to the Facts: The Editors of Popular Mechanics,John McCain,David Dunbar,Brad Reagan: Books

Even when books like this come out. He believes a garbage book like this...

Amazon.com: Debunking 9/11 Debunking: An Answer to Popular Mechanics and Other Defenders of the Official Conspiracy Theory: David Ray Griffin: Books

Sensationalism is moronic. 'Nuff said.

I hope this isn't new to you:
Logical Fallacy: Argumentum ad Hominem

Just wondering - have you read either of those books? From the reviews on Amazon, it looks like the second one is doing better.

Those pesky 9/11 conspiracy theorists are at it again...

It's only a fallacy when it's not true.

I've watched a bunch of alex jones' shit. There is NOTHING he doesn't blame on the govt. He thinks they brought the towers down, he thinks he predicted it, he thinks the world elite runs a shadow govt to blah blah blah. He believes all of this even though he has little evidence that he didn't make up or misinterpret.

Since what he's saying has been debunked it's not ad hominem.

Yes, it's still a fallacy even if what you're saying is true. Are you claiming that what Alex Jones says in the clip above is debunked?

That film, 9/11 Press for Truth, was made by a group family members of victims of 9/11. It was the same group that fought to get the official 9/11 commission created. To this day, they say the commission was a whitewash and that 70% of their questions are still unanswered. The chairmen of the commission have conceded that the investigation was highly incomplete due to political pressures, one member even resigned part way though. The family members are still fighting to get a new investigation so they can get some answers and move on with their lives. You really should have more respect for them and what they're going through.

^Of course I have respect for the families, and I agree a new investigation needs to be made. I think people like Bush, Cheney, Rumfield and their supporters in the Neo-Con group PNAC (Project for a New American Century) need to be looked into. When they had all the information about an attack coming and they did nothing about it.

I know something is fishy but to actually think that controlled demolition brought down the towers and that American Citizens would actually attack their own country-men is stupid. They don't get paid enough for such an outrageous and immoral act. The men who make money off conspiracy theorists are right up there with the top of the top scumbags. They pull peoples emotional strings for a quick buck.

I really wish we could speak to the heavens, so we could know what the victims who fell during that horrific tragedy would have to say about Alex Jones and his money making empire. Alex Jones is scum, and he plays people for fools.

So? I watched the trailer on their website. It's filled with the same half-truths as other works of fiction I've seen (and helped) debunked before.

Have you ever considered that Alex Jones might actually believe everything he's saying? Have you considered that he might really think that what he's doing is a good thing? Did you know that he has support from many of the 9/11 survivors, first responders, and victims' family members who are themselves searching for answers? I'm sure everyone who died would want to find out exactly what happened. That's all these people want... and they're not getting it.

That wasn't part of the argument. I was just saying that you should have some respect for them regardless, which you obviously don't.

nowhere you (or I, now ) can view them.

You have no idea if I have respect for the family members or not, and nothing in this thread has even come close to approaching an answer to that question..........unless you think not blindly accepting anything they say is disrespectful.

I don't unquestioningly accept anything anyone says. But way too many times I've seen in these "whatreallyhappened" films they regurgitate the same half truths, misstatements, fabrications, and outright lies recycled as "fact" or "I'm just asking questions."

I can't count the number of times I've seen the conspiracy people use the statements from firefighters to claim "THERE WAS A BOMB, TEH FIREMAN SAID 'I SAW TEH BOMBS GOING OFF!!'" only to later find out the fireman said what he heard sounded like bombs. It's that kind of crap...them saying silverstein's "pull it" means it was demolished...them saying wtc7 had no visible damage when 20 floors were scooped out and the thing was leaning 2' with smoke pouring out nearly every floor...them saying "this *one* demolition guy said it was blown up so he's right and the other 50 who say it wasn't are wrong"...them saying a missile hit the pentagon.

It's bullshit. And if anyone doesn't have respect for the families it's the people who keep pushing it as "fact."

If you are looking for people to say the war on drugs was bullshit and that there were some occasional shady things going on behind the scenes associated to it, then yeah, i agree. Was it a terrible waste of money? Sure. Should we concern ourselves with more pressing issues? Most certainly. Part of me cares less because i have no desire to want to those drugs. I like beer. Enough people liked beer so its legal status was returned to normal.

Quick question, buddy. I want to know how much these conspiracy theorists have donated in charity to the families of 9/11 because I bet it's non-existent. Alex Jones does believe his own garbage that he spews, but I will let you know this... They're all in it to make money for themselves and that's the bottomline at the end of the day. That's why I don't have respect for these fools, they're sensationalists and they play people like you because of your distaste and mistrust in the government. Which is a perfectly fine thing to have, but when it comes to crazy shit like this, wake up a little bit (HA! Another line supporters use... Boy I'm good at this. ).

Alex Jones and many of these other groups have raised tons of money for first responders and survivors families over the years through gathering donations, having events, etc. I don't have an exact dollar figure for you.

If you can't give me a figure. Then I will stand by my speech, conspiracy theorists are in it to make money for themselves and I find it distasteful, while people of the victims who support the 9/11 "Truth" movement, there are tons of more people who would punch one of these conspiracy "theorists" in the mouth. Point blank. I know I would, and I would certainly let them know what they're doing is disgraceful.

"Was" bullshit? The War on Drugs is at its peak! We have the largest per capita prison population of any country in the world and a majority of them are non-violent drug offenders. Drugs, and fighting them, is big business. With our economy in it's current state, these issues are about as pressing as it gets. Watch American Drug War, there's a whole lot more to it!
