Damnit I missed the earthquake.

Midwest quake felt far and wide - CNN.com

It wasn't strong enough to wake me up at least.

I hope this doesn't mean a big one is on the way. This fault line is supposed to be able to do a lot of damage.

If we ever had an earthquake here in NY the city would be devastated and Long Island would be a disaster zone - we are not built for that shit, but if memory serves me, the city is close to a fault line, not active but of course that could change.

The experience

I remember the first earthquake I experienced while living in Alaska. I woke up to it and even though I knew what hapenning I was still saying stupid stuff like What's going on? or What's happening? Pretty darn strange experience.

I've always thought it'd be a neat experience to be in a non-huge earthquake. I mean, aside from the damage and whatnot (which isn't cool), it has to be one of those few surreal experiences where you're reminded how small and fragile human life really is

The Northridge Quake in Los Angeles was lethal. Though luckily only one picture fell and broke. The funny part was seeing all the surfers running out with surfboards to catch huge fuckin' waves. Only in California.
