To further expand on what I think you're alluding to, it's not like Obama is this industrial entrepreneur who created a company which in turn employed people adding to the economy. He wrote a book. And as I said earlier, McCain isn't unjustly accepting handouts, he's earned it. | ||||

| Are you trying to suggest that anyone (like Obama) who is for what he sees as reasonable regulation on business, the economy, etc.. isn't able to turn a profit without being called a hypocrite? I don't buy into that at all personally. I also don't really see any conflict with McCain either, though I think if someone doesn't NEED social security, it should probably be left in the pot for everyone else who DOES need it to collect.. that seems to be the point of the system, and leaving it in there would help deal with the issues we're facing now If someone ever went broke or whatever, they could start collecting payments or whatever. | ||||

| funny you should ask.She might actually be leaving active duty in the next few months to take a teaching position at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in St. Simon's Island, Georgia. Quite a move from Buffalo ![]() You're right, though--the government, being the ultimate job security, has a lot of employees who, after making a name for themselves and rising rapidly in their first 10 years, settle in to a cushy position and don't work very hard anymore. I know some agents who barely work 30 hours a week in the office, but still get paid a full-time salary because they're "working at home." | ||||
