food poisoning sucks

i got food poisoning after eating a burger out at this bar in Cambridge Tuesday night. My stomach started to hurt badly after i finished eating it, but i thought maybe i was just gassy so i didn't think too much of it. I purposely didn't have a drop of alcohol either because once i start drinking i'll keep having more and i didn't want to spend the money. Before i left the place i went to the bathroom and when i came out i passed one of the cooks coming out of male's bathroom with his cooking glove still on. I was like wtf.

then i woke up at 5:30 with a desperate need for the bathroom. again at 6:30, forced myself to get up at 7:30 to go to work late, got to work late, was there with horrible stomach pains for a couple hours,

threw up in the bathroom wastebasket (lovely i know) before i took a cab home. spent the day in bed/couch with pains every time i had to stand up.

sucked balls.

i called last night to talk to the manager to at least alert him that there's a hispanic cook that works for him that apparently thinks its okay to go to the bathroom with his cooking glove on. not that i know that guy is the one who cooked my burger, but it does seem suspect.

doubt if i'll ever go back there.

and cause i was sick, i missed my hockey championship.

UNless it's pizza. Pizza is a magical mystery food that can sit out on the counter for days and still be fine.

You should call the health department to make sure they're doing everything right regarding meats IMO..

Been there-done that-don't want to do that again.
I got food poisoning from a fast food breakfast menu (I'll give you a hint...think golden arches and a clown named Ronald).

I feel your pain.

A sad little story. You didn't act arrogant or make someone mad that worked at the bar. Cooks have been known to seek revenge by messing with the food.

Or the cooks didn't wash their hands all shift. You don't want to know what goes on behind that kitchen, pretty much all establishments are rough around the edges.

I prepare 90+% of my food these days myself, so I don't have to worry about that much anymore.. thankfully..

yeah, i hardly go out to eat, so bad luck i guess.

and no, didn't see the cook until the bathroom incident at the end of the night.
