wow, I'm truly amazed by this. I just found out the son of this nice lady I worked with for over 2 years at my old company is going to be in the NFL draft this weekend.

She was always very nice at work and we bonded very quickly, and her son went to school in Pennsylvania. I met him the few times he came to visit her in the office and she would send out some articles here and there about him playing football for his school, but it wasn't until this morning that I got an email from her saying to keep him in our prayers since he was hoping to be called in the draft this weekend.

so i was talking about it with my bf chris and i googled him to find out his last name since i knew it wasn't his mom's last name, and i found him. His name is Sedale Threatt Jr.

he's the son of a former NBA player, Sedale Threatt.

i never knew.

and i went on to read this amazing story.

i emailed her and was like, Nadine! why did i never know this???

simply amazing. i hope the kid gets called this weekend, or at least gets to be a free agent and a walk on.

She said they got a letter from the Giants for him!!!!

What do you think about trading down? Swapping picks with the Chiefs or Eagles seems like a great idea at this point--we could use the extra picks and anyone we take at 11 is, by definition, going to be a reach unless we go for best player available.

I think trade down, because I don't think there is a clear cut guy that we want. I think moving into the late 2nd or early 1st with an additional pick(s) would be our best option.

Agreed.

I wouldn't mind going down to 17-20, taking the best available corner (Talib? DRC?) and then moving back into the last first/early second round and taking the best available WR (probably Manningham, Hardy, or Sweed if we get really lucky).

The LOLphins drafted Ted Ginn Jr. with the 9th overall pick. They was at least 30-50 better players to select, the fans wanted Brady Quinn who could have been their franchise QB. So Cam Cameron goes out and tries to explain himself and he says that "we drafted the whole Ginn family", "Ted Ginn and his family will give us everything we have".

The LOLphins went 1-15, Ginn will be a bust and Cam Cameron got fired.

The Tennessee Titans had a pretty bad draft in my eyes this year, we needed a WR badly and we didn't take one until the 4th Round and at best he'll bes a slot receiver. Anyways, I trust Jeff Fisher and hopefully we'll get that WR we need in the off-season training camp cuts.
