I can't believe he'd say he was "disappointed" by calls for nonviolence..

Why does Al Sharpton hate methods used by Dr. King?
do you see how this is shaping up not to be a protest but rather a riot? I think Sharpton will realize that he has overstepped the boundaries.

catch 22.........when he's arrested for it, it's just going to feed his cause and it'll attract more people.

Alright, where does it say they were caught with firearms, you act as if cops don't make mistakes. This was one of them and it's a big one because someone lost their life in the process. You and Stylerod amaze me, two of the worst debaters I ever discussed with, you're a bunch of clowns.

Let me guess, you both support illegal wiretaps plus search and seizures without warrants? Please tell me what else your Anti-American Rights you stand for as well... You two amaze me and you act like knuckleheads, instead of engaging you sit there and try to harass other posters, poorly I might add.

Yep, the worst debaters, especially when you take that comment out of context

Well, I would love for you to show me that they had a justification for shooting the man Sean Bell. I don't agree with Sharpton's antics, he's promoting civil violence. But Sean Bell was mistaken for someone else and the cops thought they heard (there is no proof since they had a gun) that they had a gun. It still doesn't justify them shooting the bullets over 30 times (which is in the news report). The accused had no firearms to even fire back. I still feel bad for the officers, they have a tough job and I know they didn't want to kill the man. When you read their comments, they have true remorse and I just wanted to put forth my argument that this may have never happened, if that law didn't exist.

Because of a bad law, a small group of people's lives and families are ruined for this. I know you and I agree about Sharpton, but making absurd claims to a legit claim about a law is kind of dumb... Don't you think? You couldn't show me where something on the net that prostitution has ruined lives (like teenagers, which is horrible). But when you legalize something like that, proper establishments are put in place, so a black market (such as pimps etc.) can't take over (It works in other countries over in the European Union that isn't criminal). Sorry if I'm being unreasonable but I get heated when people can't at least give a formal response, not absurd ones like "Lets outlaw Strip Clubs." (Who's to say we won't have a black market of underground strip joints going on in the U.S. to give police more problems to deal with.) Anyways, we don't like Al Sharpton's tactics... Right?

Sean Bell Protesters Blocking Streets In Manhattan, Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBS) ― The Rev. Al Sharpton and dozens of others were arrested Wednesday amid a series of protests throughout the city, part of a response to the acquittals of three New York City undercover detectives in the killing of an unarmed groom on his wedding day.

Hundreds took to the streets in Manhattan and Brooklyn as part of the citywide "slowdown" effort led by Sharpton and his National Action Network. Police have arrested those who took part in acts of civil disobedience by blocking the streets to rally.

Sharpton was arrested without incident at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge, along with Bell's fiancé, Nicole Paultre Bell, and his two friends who were with him on the night of the shooting.

Bell's parents were also arrested.

that was the whole idea right? Notice how they switched from "shut down" to "slow down", so he wouldn't face serious charges.

Undercover police officers were were at a strip club investigating possible prostitution when a man got into an argument with a woman. The man, Sean Bell, then told his friends to get his gun as they went out to their vehicle. An undercover plain clothed police detective followed them out to their vehicle and called for backup. They approached Bell in his vehicle, drew their weapons and ordered him out of the vehicle. Instead, Bell accelerated at the officers, hit an unmarked police van and attempted to escape. The officers opened fire at the vehicle.

If that is all true, I cant believe they are trying to make some case about this. Why didnt he get out of the car when the police told him to at gun point?

BUT YOU MUST REALIZE: This is only one side of the story. And other witnesses have a totally different story, then what you just read.

For instance some witnesses say the police never identified themselves when approaching the car with weapons drawn.

Other witnesses say the officers started firing on Bell as soon as they left their vehicle.

All i know is that Police are capable of lying about things like this too. And the details of the situation, and the the witnesses will hopefully shed some light on this case.

they tried in court, but their stories didn't match up and the judge didn't believe them.
