| NYT cites racial injustice of covering Wright but not Hagee It is an injustice, a legacy of the racist threads of this nation’s history, but prominent African-Americans are regularly called upon to explain or repudiate what other black Americans have to say, while white public figures are rarely, if ever, handed that burden. Senator John McCain has continued to embrace a prominent white supporter, Pastor John Hagee, whose bigotry matches that of Mr. Wright. NYT Don't know about John Hagee?
Basically, he is a very hateful person, and will be someone of influence in McCain's administration, and he is constantly used to try and get the far-right vote out for McCain, who he is afraid might sit out the election Rather than distance himself, he's embraced him and is proud of his endorsement Obama, on the other hand, publically divorced himself from Wright, and Wright obviously WILL NOT BE IN CONNECTION WITH ANY OBAMA PRESIDENCY...unlike Hagee Is it racism or just overwhelming Pro-McCain bias? Actually, I guess it's not really that much of a difference to have an overwhelming biased coverage of a white candidate over a black candidate...and racism...personal opinion...

| It's disingenuous to say that McCain simply "accepted" Hagee's endorsement. He actively sought it out. | ||||

Apparently, other Catholics (in name or belief) are screwed here too...all those child molestors and those who covered up for them...every single person they ever married...the marriage is now void! And the kids aren't even christian anymore! I heard another priest in my area talking about helping the poor and it inspired me in my youth to get active in soup kitchens which ended up with a long term commitment to St Francis...well if it ever turns out that priest had issues, looks like my whole reasoning for doing any volunteer work was flawed Really, I find a lot of this stuff to be anti-catholic bigotry...there is a big divide between priest and parishioner...they lecture from a pulpit on the values of the New Testament (which is shockingly liberal) and it requires no personal connection or judgement of their character...whatsoever... There seems to be some sort of garbage being thrown around here that going to church, hearing sermons on public works...is all a "connection" which calls a persons judgment into question ![]() Way to insult a lot of Catholics...

Lets get to the issues, not about whose church they're being endorsed by.
