Sen. Webb: McCain is "so full of it"

To the crowd out here, that maybe to the right, but thinks very highly of Senator Webb:

There are fundamental differences," McCain told Politico. "He creates a new bureaucracy and new rules. His bill offers the same benefits whether you stay three years or longer. We want to have a sliding scale to increase retention. I haven't been in Washington, but my staff there said that his has not been eager to negotiate."

"He's so full of it," Webb said in response. "I have personally talked to John three times. I made a personal call to [McCain aide] Mark Salter months ago asking that they look at this."

"Hell, no," Webb bristled when asked if there had been an implicit message that he would attack McCain if he didn't come on board.

"John McCain has been a longtime friend of mine, and I think if John sat down and examined what was in this bill, he would co-sponsor it," Webb said. "I don't want this to become a political issue. I want to get a bill done."
GI bill sparks Senate war - David Rogers - Politico.com

Gee, what do you think is going to happen, McCain sit down with Webb to help the troops...or McCain storming off mad with his totally erratic and dangerous temper...because he wants doesn't want to deal with Democrats now that he's the Chief Republican for 2008

Well judging by how he abandoned his wife, remarried for money and looks, used fraud and corruption to rip millions off Americans as one of the notorious "Keating Five", was about to turn to switching to the Democratic Party twice when he got angry (in 2000 to flip the senate, and 2004 to be Kerry's running mate)...then flipped his entire political position to get the nomination...refuses to disassociate from known racists/bigots...hmm...I wonder I wonder what kind of man he is and what that type of person will do...

I'm not sure he could politically afford appearing to sign on to a Democrats bill, that's the old bi-partisan John McCain, not the new best friend of the "agents of intolerance" John McCain that was needed to win the nomination.

John McCain will do, say, or sell his soul for anything to become President of the United States. I read an article on Yahoo! News last week that accuses McCain of his flip-flopping.

if I could get McCain behind anything it would be this. The career idea is what the Bush administration is pushing, but the GI Bill was designed for servicemembers who only did one tour. Its a bullshit argument the current GI bill sucks, it is a former shell of itself.

My loans after getting a degree at a private university is around $70k, and I have recieved around 12k in GI Bill payments. I use it not for tutition but rather as a rent check.
