| Today is the Day *Indiana, North Carolina* This is the last major primary, after today there will be more superdelegates available than pledged delegates. So what do you think is going to happen? If Obama takes both states then she is done. But if there is a split, indecision 2008 keeps on trucking along. If Hilllary wins, and she has been making huge inroads in North Carolina, then he might be finished too. | ||||

| I'm honestly pretty sick of it all. Why are these super delegates sitting around on thier asses refusing to choose? Just fucking pick one and end it. God it's so ridiculous. These pandering spineless asswipes are just sitting around waiting for results of what should be two unimportant primaries so that they can try and vote the most popular way. They can't possibly vote thier conscience, surely they could have done so by now if that was thier intention. Fuck you super delegates.. fuck you and the donkey you rode in on. | ||||

He is going to try to force the super delegates to decide early, but he can't make them.

| I just got done voting, a lot of people did early voting here (which kicks ass), so I don't expect there to be lines until later today.. wasn't crowded at all IMO Clinton will lose here by 10+ points, and probably snag a win in Indiana by a couple points, the delegate math wont change, but what will be interesting to see is how this whole Wright mess impacted the demographics that voted for Obama today.. I have a feeling there are a lot of people in NC who saw that and are like, well, I can't vote for him now.. this is a pretty conservative state even though it's trending blue, so I can't imagine it doesn't hurt him I don't know much about Indiana, but I guess we'll see One interesting this is that a lot of the colleges here just got out last week, so if a bunch of kids are on summer break, maybe they don't turn out as heavy as when they were in school and there was an organization active on campus to get them to the polls.. I drove around to a few different polling stations today and all I saw were older people (50+).. no one else near my age. | ||||

| I think Hillary will take Indiana by about half the margin Obama takes North Carolina. Obama will extend his delegate lead tonight and pick up even more super delegates. This is going to force Hillary's campaign into a "demographic" argument saying Obama can't win the white vote. Hillary's camp is preparing for a loss of 15+ points right now in North Carolina. That was her last ditch effort to show that she's made headway. Last edited by JaJae : 05-06-2008 at 02:12 PM. | ||||

| North Carolina already called for Obama. Numbers too large in Obama's favor to even wait for numbers to start coming in. 0% Reported, CNN called it for him. Fox just called it for him. | ||||

| Obama's speech was excellent. Went right to the core and cut through all the bullshit. His lead in NC is absolutely gigantic, fluctuating between 16 and 19 points with 52% reporting. It's going to come down to the wire in Indiana, as Clinton has a 52-48 lead right now. However, ZERO votes from Lake County have come in (they're on central time), and that county, with 150,000+ voters, will go heavily for Obama. The black vote and suburban Chicago residents are in Lake County (it's where Gary is), so IMO he will pick up at least a margin of 30,000 votes there. Pretty much all of the strong Hillary areas have already been counted. It might be enough to leave this at a virtual dead heat, in which case Barack is a big winner overall. | ||||

| If he can pull it within a point or two I have a feeling she'll drop out.. Indiana was supposed to be the state where she could make her case about him being unable to win certain states, demographics, etc.. He's only about 40,000 behind her right now, doing much better than I thought he would | ||||

| Obama sits 37,000 votes back, but still no results from Lake County. This is going to be a photo finish, methinks. | ||||

| According to MSNBC election officials, the results from Lake County won't start coming in until after Midnight eastern. No network will call it for Hillary until those results come in, since that is major Obama country. Why she is giving a victory speech is beyond me. She's going to look like a fucking moron when Obama wins Gary by 60,000 votes and she loses the state. | ||||

| They're starting to report. 25% reported from Marion county, Obama has 75% of the vote. Obama is only down by 20k votes now. He cut the 40k gap in half with only 28% of the vote from Marion county. If he can hold this he can take it. | ||||
