GOP media people are going to have an easy time if obama picks edwards.

| What exactly did Edwards say and is it soundbyte worthy? That's basically what it boils down to. Edwards, a southern, white male; represents a good bit of what Obama is struggling with. | ||||

| Edwards gave about a million and one soundbyte worthy statements when he was running against both Obama and Hillary. But he was especially tough on Obama because of his "non universal" health care plan and "inexperience." Obama was the easier target. Hillary was still perceived as inevitable so he just wanted to get Obama out so he could go head to head against her as part of the final two knowing he couldn't continue to share votes with Obama anymore.

| But Edwards has no clout with southern, white males.. at least in NC, and if he doesn't have the clout with them in his home state, where is he capable of helping Obama pick up votes? | ||||

| I'm just saying, everyone seems to be buying into this idea that because Edwards is white, because he's from the south, his endorsement is going to get Obama votes They forget that the southern white males that Obama is having trouble with don't like Edwards or his $300 haircuts.. Those people from the Edwards camp jumped ship to Obama long ago.. | ||||

Obama is also getting charged with being youthful and inexperienced, so he's going to have to have someone older, someone with foreign policy experience, and imo a military background I think Clark would make an excellent choice, even though he doesn't bring anything to the table in terms of electoral votes. | ||||

| I can guarantee you that Obama will not choose Edwards. John has already said he's not interested in the slot and he can make a shit load more of money doing speeches and books. I think Obama is norrowing it down to 3 people... Gov. Bill Richardson, Gov. Tim Kaine and Sen. Jim Webb. In that order. | ||||

| I agree, as much as I would like to see Richardson in there (I liked him more than any of the other democrats when the primaries started up) I don't see it happening. First like Tank said, it will look like Obama bought him off, remember when Carville called him to Brutus? This is a shame because I feel Richardson did the right thing and endorsed the better candidate regardless of petty politics. This shouldn't be a popularity contest where everyone just endorses their friends, it should be an informed decision, and I feel Richardson made a good one. Second this would put two minorities on the ticket, now this might not matter in the end as anyone who would refuse to vote for a half Mexican VP probably won't be voting for a half black POTUS, but I just get the feeling that one minority is kinda stretching America's racial tolerance, and two might be asking too much. Again this is a shame as Richardson would make a great counterbalance to Obama's lack of experience and would help him get the Hispanic vote (could come into play with McCain's maverick immigration stance). But unfortunately I just don't see it happening. I do hope Richardson at least gets an appointed position though. Oh yeah... Hillary should drop out, all shes doing is making watching the news annoying, about 100,000 people died this week in Asia, but all i hear about is Obama and Hillary. Shes said all she has to say and done all she can, theres nothing left. Game over, thanks for playing. | ||||
