Look, I'm all for the legalization of it, but the fact of the matter is that since it's an illegal substance they haven't been able to do enough widespread research on it's longterm effects. You breathe smoke into your lungs and it fucks up your brain; I'm just trying to say that there's probably a pretty good chance that it does in fact do something to you.
not enough research? it's probably the most widely used illegal ( in the US) drug on the planet. There is a compendium of research that has been conducted over the years.

For short term research, yes. Long term research, no.

I have smoked LOTS and then LOTS MORE of really good herb.

But I will agree that smoking marijuana as a teen can totally increase your chances of suffering from depression, suicidal thoughts, or mental illness in general.

Teenagers are more then not immature mentally. And as far as 'stress' goes, it has been said that teenagers are 'very' stressed. Much more stressed out then many of us remember.

All these things make me believe Marijuana is not something teens should be using. Marijuana use usually complicates peoples minds in some ways, and although it may bring good feelings sometimes, the overall experience seems to me, to not be something I would encourage teens to do.

Wait until your an 'adult' and have a better grasp on your life, and then give it a try if thats something you wanna do.

I don't know that it increases the chance for mental illness really, I think there are probably other environmental factors involved in that kids life if he's smoking weed as a teenager than just the weed itself

I consider it to be the same as alcohol, except nobody has ever OD'd on weed. For me being wasted drunk or being high has kind of the same outcome, just weed is far more mellow and im less likely to make an ass out of myself. Maintaining a rod and operating a motor vehicle are two activities that become increasingly difficult the more drunk or high you get.

It is a downer like alcohol instead of a picker upper like caffeine, nicotine, and cocaine. Personally I dont think a happy person who smokes pot is going to get suicidal. I could see someone who is unhappy and borderline suicidal already, become suicidal after using it...but i can also see that happening after someone gets wasted drunk too.
