| having the choice to is different than not doing it. but I did choose not to vaccinate them against chicken pox. instead, when one friend's kid got them we had a play date and ours and all our friends' kids' got them at the same time. I'm not opposed to vaccines. I'm opposed to stupid vaccines. | ||||

| I wasn't vaccinated. We haven't made the decision for Olivia yet, even though we're supposed to in the pretty near future edit- I did end up getting a tetanus shot. two or three times. Usually because I owned myself on a rusty nail, a chisel, a nail, a nail, etc | ||||

If I ever have kids I doubt I'll get them vaccinated for that either, nothing like your whole body itching like crazy for a week to build character! By the way, did your kids know what you were doing with the chicken pox stuff before you went over there? Or was it a complete surprise when they woke up itching?

| Some vaccines can be dangerous, but most of the ones they give to children are safe, most of the time. | ||||

| Good to know about the vaccine, I can always take my future children to my doctor and get a professional opinion. I don't know if I ever had a vaccination but I did already catch the chicken pox when I was 8 years old. So I'm good. Though I've seen very-very-rare cases of people getting it a 2nd time, that must suck. | ||||

I don't have kids, but we need to be careful what vaccines we give to kids. I could understand why parents are against vaccines, in fact I could see myself fighting a school district against them in the near future.

Olivia has been tough in that way (less so with the vaccines and moreso with physical therapy and such) because they just don't write books about kids with missing left arms/shoulders and stomachs that aren't arranged the normal way. There is no manual and she is clearly a special case in many ways so we can't just do what everyone does.
