2 things that have suprised me so far about the Democrat Primary

1. I believe that Bill Clinton helped to elect Obama, everytime he opened his mouth it hurt Hillary.

2. The unbelievable amout of money that Obama has raised. He outspent Hillary 2-1 in WVA, a state that he basically wrote off.

I agre with number 1 every time Bill was in the news for a while there it helped Obama. I don't know if it was intentional or not but there is no denying he hurt Hillary.
As for outspending her in WVA he has money to burn now and only so much time to spend it.

He has a following like Ron Paul supporters, only a hell of a lot more of them.

Sounds like a fish story; the longer it goes on the bigger it gets.
At some point It might to start to smell.

I'd look into it if I were a investigative journalist, unless my editor thinks it might hurt the race, which translates into papers sold, and lord knows the newspaper business needs the revenue.

On a cold November day not very far away, we'll discover whiether his people can vote as well as they donate.

Unless the dough is coming from overseas? Now there's a scary thought!

But look at the bright side, he's bringing in cash which counters the trade imbalance, and we import everything else, so why not the chief executive

No way McCain is going to be able to keep up with his fundraising in the fall..

Especially if he follows the law and is limited to public funding like he should be, but I think he'll manage to weasel his way out of it..

And I think if Bill had stayed home most of the time, or played a more traditional spouse role, Hillary would have done a lot better, and I think there definitely wouldn't have been as big of a rallying around Obama by the black community as there has been

And lets be honest, without that, the matches would have been much closer, and I think Hillary would have probably won some of those she had lost.

"If you are nominated for president in 2008 and your major opponents agree to forgo private funding in the general election campaign, will you participate in the presidential public financing system?" the Midwest Democracy Network asked in a questionnaire. Mr. Obama's answer was clear. "Yes," he wrote. "If I am the Democratic nominee, I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election."

I don't think either candidate should use public financing, I think it is undemocratic but it would be interesting to see both of use it.

I don't know if there is a traditional role of the spouse in a Presidential election, Obama's wife is in the public and her off-handed haven't seemed to hurt him. I think he just stepped over the line and it cost Hillary.

McCain should technically be forced to, since he used it as collateral for a loan when his campaign was faltering.
