My tax rebate stimulus check came today

It's not very much, but I don't make very much, so it's nice.

I'm probably going to spend it on an iPhone this June when they come out with the 3g version

When do you get yours / what are you planning to do with it?

Stimulus Payment Schedule for Tax Returns Processed by April 15 to look at the schedule.

I'm in the first group, hollar to the 00 through 09 SSN crew

I need a few things. I need a new harddrive cause one of mine is clicking right now and I'd like to get it replaced before it dies.

But I also need some new stuff for hockey. I could use some new bearings, wheels and some new gloves cause I can't get the funk out of my current ones. Haven't gotten my check yet. Looking forward to it.

What group are you in?

You should get a Seagate, they come with a 5 year warranty on all their drives.. which, in my experience is longer than most drives (aside from the Seagate ones I've had) have lasted.

I'm a fan of Seagate. I usually get Seagate. My last two computers had all Seagate drives. The drive I have now that's failing is a 500GB Samsung I got on a sale plus a rebate. My new drive I want to have at least 32MB cache cause I handle a lot of large files. I'm looking at either the Samsung Spinpoint F1 because of it's speed and quietness and also the Seagate. The Seagate is a little more expensive and I believe a bit slower, but I've never had a problem with a Seagate drive and after getting burned on my Samsung I'm wary. I've only had it a couple years or so. It may still be under warranty, but it doesn't do me any good because I need a new drive anyway to back up what's currently on it. I currently have a 150GB Raptor, a 500GB Seagate and a 500GB Samsung. I'll probably get a 750GB Seagate to replace the clicking Sammy.

And I'm not sure what group I'm in. I never checked. I know they're dealing them out based on the last digits of social security numbers or something. But I'm not exactly strapped for cash right now so I haven't really cared. When it comes it comes.

Just saw the link in the first post. I filed for a paper return so I'm due for my rebate going out by June 13th. Which I believe is actually Friday the Thirteenth...

I immediately put it toward the medical debt incurred by Olivia's NICU stay.

Only about 100 years left till we're paid off if I just use the tax rebates

We got ours a couple weeks ago. We spent half of it to furnish our sunroom with furniture (we've had a time finding stuff we both liked). The other half went to CC debt.

I get my $600 loan from china by friday. some how it got messed up and i got the paper check instead of direct deposit. either way i will reluctantly accept it, and pay my $400 in taxes on my truck with my federal tax rebate. Maybe use the left over $200 to send to a student loan or something.

I am pictuing Teddy KGB saying " Eeet's OK, I am paying you with your money". I think most people see it as free money.

Good job. I did the same thing. I have a backup program do a dump of our picture folder and mine and my wifes My Document folders every night to the external drive. I figure if the house catches on fire I skoot the family out the door and grab the drive before I leave!

I wonder if they make a fireproof enclosure for external drives?

Shouldn't we just give the money back to the government ?

If we think taxes should be raised, let's start by letting the government keep the checks!

I don't think too many of the people here fall into the category that the Democrats want to raise taxes on. Maybe a few.

Backup Genie. It will do incrimental backups and any other type of backup you can think of. It works pretty well. You can tell it to keep certain amount of past backups so you can go back to an old file if you changed one you shouldn't have or deleted something you want back.

I have it set to keep 14 days worth and then it does anouther full backup and starts over and deletes an old day with every new day created. I have my pictures in folders by year so I have those backed up just once with only 2008 folder updating daily.

All of us will. If they remove Bush's tax cuts that have been in place for almost 8 years, I will have had my taxes raised.
