www.dontvote.com

I saw this truck as I was walking down the street a few mins ago, and curiosity got the best of me.

It turns out the site's theme is don't vote, until you know where the candidates stand on issues. It seems pretty useful in that it keeps up with all the news in Senate and Congress races etc.

Just a PSA for persons interestsed.

What's worse? Uninformed voting? Or not voting at all? At least if you have a low turn out, you're somewhat assured those who voted know what they're doing. If we have a huge turnout, you get a lot of people were pushed into voting by simplistic commercials and the like.

I agree with their message. I'd rather someone choose to not vote than vote via random selection. Although random selection should probably end up being normally distributed, which wouldn't affect a vote outcome, I just think it's better practice to do at least SOME research before making a decision.

However, some people just 'know' they're republican and others just 'know' they're democrat... guess they don't really need to research their candidates at all. I guess it's more important with those swing voters... they see congress voting to erect a fence between America and Mexico, and they heard the immigrants are bad, so the fence must be good, so the incumbant must be trying to do the right thing. I believe that means they were tricked instead of actually looking at the issue and forming their own opinion on the issue.

I've been saying this for years. I hate MTV's everybody go vote, even if you haven't a fucking clue. They are just watering down the votes of people who actually care.

I'm all about the equality and elected officials of a democracy. But as far as uninformed people voting on judges, city officials, house members, ect. They may as well be voting the size of the foundation in my house.

If someone is going to go in and pull the lever on the name of the person who put up the most signs, I prefer that person did not vote.
