I doubt that very much. The way the law was written, if you have sex with a 13 year old, there simply are no excuses. Thus, they had to go to jail.

when I was teaching there were plenty of freshman girls who looked and acted older than some of the senior girls.

you're basing this on what a 13 year old *should* know. most 13 year olds aren't staying out late and hanging out in bars and having sex with 25 year old men so you can NOT assume that this 13 year old girl would act like other 13 year old girls.

I'm pretty sure life is "all about" spreading your seed. Everything else such as survival, the search for food, jobs, money, etc... all hinge on that. We must spread our genetic material, it is the most basic of instincts.

Regardless, just because YOU have some special ability to make judgement calls better than other people does NOT make them criminals. If everyone had to be compared to how you see yourself, we'd all be in trouble.

He made a mistake as a result of her deception though, had she been honest, he proceeded to have sex anyway, he could have been punished for it.

But again, because of her active campaign of deceit he wasn't able to make a choice to follow the law, he didn't even know he was breaking it
