| I don't like McCain at all, he's flip flopped on every major core issue he ran on and stood for in 2000 and before in order to have another chance at the nomination, so I lost all respect for him and I think it shows his lack of character and integrity But, we have some folks on here who like him. As far as illegal immigration, McCain is one of the people who was putting together the "amnesty" deal, so I'm not real sure why you think he'll be much different than Obama or Clinton And, when you add everything up, we can't afford 4 more years of Bush.. the war has cost us more than illegals, because the war hasn't brought us anything positive, hasn't made us safer.. and say what you want about illegals leeching off the system, they still contribute to the work force Welcome to the forums though, stick around and post | ||||

| Whats up dude! Welcome to the board ![]() Personally I do not think McCain is a bad guy at all. He's made some pretty bad decisions IMO, especially surrounding personal liberty, FISA, Carbon Trading and Illegal Immigration but he has either changed his mind on a few of these or decided to vote in a way that was representative of the people in his district. Some view that as bad, good, flip flopping, unfortunately for us we do not have any solid choices this time around. My two favorites were eliminated early on in Mitt Romney and Joseph Biden. | ||||

That's not to mention it was a Republican that got us out of Vietnam (think Iraq is bad? take a look at that mess), and it was a Republican that got us out of Korea (Nixon and Eisenhower, respectively). It was Democrats that got us into both of those worthless wars (Truman and Kennedy), and it was Democrats that got us into both World Wars (Wilson and FDR, both of whom are a couple of the worst Presidents this country has ever suffered). On a related note, it was Wilson that formally introduced racial segregation into government, and it was Eisenhower that was the first to abandon segregation in DC after the "separate but equal" ruling, and he went on to propose two civil rights acts that both passed. So rest assured that your opponent is pretty damn dumb for saying that the Republican party hasn't done shit in the last hundred years. ![]() Oh, and, welcome to the board.

He's done a complete reversal on so many issues that it's not something anyone should be able to take a look at and seriously respect. It is flip flopping and political pandering, not making an informed change of opinion. How can you like Romney AND Biden when they're so different though? I don't quite understand that one.

McCain and I almost have exact opposite thoughts for the direction of our country. There are issues that I do not agree with democrats on... but he agrees with the democrats on those, just as one example immigration. The other issues he is conservative on... I am not "conservative" such as leaving Iraq or abortion. Again..hes a great guy...kind of tarnishing himself with the political scene... but i also generally disagree with just about everything he has proposed.

| haha, yeah i see what you mean. but can you do me a favor and just check the last 3 paragraphs i wrote on immigration. I'm not sure if i'm correct here. "I am not wrong about the illegals getting free stuff, here's why. I'm not talking about people coming from other countries, like that one dude's parents were from Poland. Well no shit you pay taxes, you file for a visa and actually have an ID. There is nothing wrong with what your parents did, i approve of people trying to be citizens, that's not what i'm talking about. I'm talking about people who walk over from Mexico, don't have an ID, and people that don't even have an address. Most of them like i said are too lazy to get work permits. First of all, it's against the law to refuse anyone at any hospital. And if they need something done, they don't have to pay. Why? They don't have an ID or address or anything, you don't know who this person is. They don't pay taxes, because they arent trying to become real citizens, they're just walking over. Second, if an illegal immigrant gets another illegal immigrant pregnant, and the walk over to the U.S. and give birth to that child, that child is automatically a U.S. citizen. What right does that baby have to be a citizen? They know how to play the game. And it's bullshit. Say if i got a girl pregnant when i'm older, and we went to Mexico on a vacation, and she gives birth unexpectedly, is that child a citizen of Mexico? Hell no. So why does that apply here? Like i said, it's pure bullshit. Illegal immigrants know how to play this game and to ruin our country. And that is the truth to all of this, i don't care if you believe me or not, that's how it works." | ||||

| I disagree with your notion that "most of them" are too lazy. I would say that the vast majority of them are, like you said, disinterested in becoming citizens, but I don't think they are lazy. The vast majority of them seem to bust their balls for significantly reduced pay. While they are not paying taxes, they are working at a rate that substantially reduces retail costs for us. I commend them for that. I do not, however, support their presence in this country as illegal immigrants, and I would love to see congressmen with enough balls to go on a mass deporting spree. I'm pretty sure that your last paragraph is inaccurate. As far as I know, in your scenario, your child would be a Mexican citizen, and not an American citizen. Citizenship is granted to individuals born on military bases and embassies abroad, but not on any other foreign soil. Again, that's as far as I know. I could be wrong. | ||||
