Is John McCain trying to be the older, whiter, more conservative Barack Obama? On Tuesday, the Senator co-opted the slogan that has come to personify Obama's candidacy, taking the Illinois Democrat's "Change You Can Believe In" and altering it into "A Leader You Can Believe In." The line donned McCain's ...

McCain Rips Off Obama's Slogan And Logo - Politics on The Huffington Post This is hilarious, not only does he steal the slogan everyone recognizes Obama by (similar to what Hillary did with "Yes we will" from "Yes we can"), but also rips off the creativity of his website and logos... I guess when you have no new ideas to offer the country, the best thing you can do is steal the imagery and slogans your opponent is using to deliver his ![]() John McCain '08 - Honor, Integrity, Older than FM Radio, Intellectual Property Thief | ||||

| Hillary was stealing Obama's slogans too. They're simple and they work. I'm a bit surprised to see a Republican ripping it off though. | ||||

| Yea I saw that after I posted. I think it's a sign of weakness. They're intimidated by Obama and the effectiveness of his slogan. They're afraid to let it go unchallenged without something similar or of equal strength. | ||||

| So the big joke for conservatives, or neoconservatives I guess, is that Obama has nothing but his slogans of hope and change. Now I know full well as well as anyone else that actually knows how to read that this is simply not true. Obama has articulated his ideas a hundredfold more than McCain has, but nonetheless that's the joke on republican blogs. If you consider that, it's just a jab at Obama. Instead of change we can believe in, McCain will be a LEADER we can believe in. Not saying I like McCain but if you consider that, it makes sense I think | ||||

| Either way, Obama definitely has better presentation folks working with him. His presentation for his website, himself, and his ideas is, in my opinion, almost flawless. | ||||

| Really off topic, but it reminded me of something.. there's people out there calling him the anti-Christ because he's managed to swoon so many people around the country (and world) with his extraordinary charisma and oratory skills | ||||

| A couple of months ago I read a brief article talking about how candidates were stealing/adopting the messages of their rivals/past candidates. So this isn't anything new. The main problem with McCain trying to make his campaign look similar to Obama's is that Obama is extremely good at presenting his fluff whereas McCain will look rigid in comparison. I *think* McCain would be better off overall not trying to look like Obama and continue to make his own brand... | ||||
