OK, so if you have no privacy, and since you are in the military, is it a requirement for you to dispell all of the ways that you like to engage in sex? Is it required that one tells about what positions they like? How they like their balls cupped or not? Or what kind of girls they prefer to be with? What about fetishes? Do you need to talk about that to be in the military? Is it a matter of national security that while you are in combat, your SO needs to know how fast you generally like to be stroked during foreplay? Really? All of that is their business? If it's none of their business for you, it's none of their business for someone who is homosexual.

And if you are tested for STD's before, during, and after, then Ballz doesn't have to worry about HIV, and that dispells that arguement for not allowing them.

yes it is, it is a level of comfort and trust that needs to be there for unit cohesion. For instance, take a squad of 12 male servicemembers (or 12 workers anywhere) and watch how they coexist. Now add one female into the group and see how the group dynamics change. Its the same with gays.

what about training situations back in the states? Do you know that the military has a really bad track record when it comes to sexual harassment/assault

sex between servicemembers is banned in iraq, and you can get into deep shit for it.

So, what if you are into dogs. Beastiality. What if you like sex with a dildo, and you are a straight man. Can your unit handle it? Oh, but they can't if your partner is a man...that's lame. "the Dynamics change" to me is the equivilent that some straight men aren't firm in their own sexuality that they need to focus on someone else's. It's quite vain and egotistical.
