I have heard of doctors, nurses, and others who are also dismissed because they prefer sausage to taco. Can you really say that you would turn down medical treatment, such as removing some IED shrapnal from your stomach or leg, because he may slip you a stiff one eye while way under on pain killers? To me it just seems very silly to dismiss someone solely on their sexual preference. Now if they are violating rules and humping or blowing entire barracks... first of all we have way more homosexuals in the military than originally thought.. but secondly give them their dishonorable discharge for sexual conduct violations. | ||||

| the military is not a place for social experimentation. Openly gay service members would hurt unit cohesion and that is unacceptable. Maybe when society changes in 10-20 years we can reverse this, but the military is just a reflection of society's values. | ||||

| So... when they are in the "bush" or in their bunk... the fear of someone slipping a stiffy or giving them a mysterious handy hurts cohesion? I have a feeling any gay soldier is going to just be like "im gay" and thats about it. I do not think it is going to be like some sort of MTV Next show where everyone makes out in the bus. I am sure they won't be prancing around all nimbly bimbly hurting cohesion. I think it is kind of funny that it comes to that because similar things happened to black people.
