Some 3D radar shots of the storms today...

As some of you know a hobby of mine is following the weather. My block was devastated by a tornado when I was 4, since then I've been fascinated with weather. I've got some pretty sweet software for analyzer storms from a company called Gibson Ridge, here's a few screen shots for your viewing pleasure...

Not if you know what you're looking at. The way it interprets the disection data from the storms it makes it very easy to see the updrafts and tornadoes.

Wow, the 3d view is amazing. I had a close encounter with a tornado in Alabama in 1974.

Where did you get the software?

I just came in here to ask that

Cool pictures, how hard is it to really use the software and understand what kind of information it's showing you?

It's not hard, if you look at the 2D portion where my screen is divided into 4 sections depending on which section I click on it will give you a scale on the left. So if I highlight the BV portion of the screen I get speeds towards and away from the radar in kts. If I highlight the traditional radar portion the base scan then I get reflectivity in DBZ on the left. Then there's a cube button up at the top. Click on that and then click and drag the portion that you want rendered in 3D. Things like gate to gate shear, velocities, and identifying meso's just come with time but with the 3D software its MUCH easier than using the old 2D stuff which really wasn't hard to begin with.
