| No way that is a brown recluse, we have the recluse everywhere here and that is definately not it. That looks more like a young wolf spider variety. How big was he? | ||||

| I don't know how you're supposed to measure how big they are, but it was like 5 inches from foot to foot at least. The Carolina Wolf Spider is the biggest wolf spider in the country, but he looks more brown than gray.. | ||||

| Wow, that sucker is big enough to make a cat say, "hmmm....I don't think so". I suggest you negotiate a rental agreement with it and think about moving.

| I remember I was talking about situational awareness in your thread about nearby robbers... I take it back. Get a concealed carry permit and pistol. Might want a .357 magnum judging by those pictures. fucking a :shiver: | ||||

| It looks like it might be a Fishing Spider. Specifically, the markings on its legs look similar to those. Dolomedes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Do you have any water near your house? Like a pond or stream? It says they tend to stick around those places ![]() Here's another site I found (which made me think it might be a fishing spider): North Carolina Spider Photos | ||||

| Yeah we have a fairly decent sized pond not too far away.. I really think that's it, Ardent. I saw a wolf spider today (about 1.5 inches) on the sidewalk, definitely more grey than the one that infiltrated the bathroom. | ||||

| I was in sydney AU, walking along a sidewalk lined on both sides by a hedge. All the sudden the cabbie grabbed my shoulder and yanked me back. I spun around like I was going to lunge at his throat and took a step away from him. His eyes got pretty big and he started yelling "look out! look out!" so I turned and saw the reason he grabbed me.... some kind of spider (he said banana spider but I wouldn't know) had built a web across a 6' wide sidewalk and was hanging in the middle. If I took 2 more steps I would have hit it with my face. | ||||

| That is fucking epic... I remember in HS a guy came in and had all these weird marks all over his legs and he had no idea what they were. He went to the doctor who said that they looked to be baby spider bites and he probably had a nest under his bed or something, they hatched, and paid him a midnight visit on their way to find homes. Man, think about waking up to THAT. | ||||
