Al-Qaida warns Muslims: Time to get out of U.S.

The new al-Qaida field commander in Afghanistan is calling for Muslims to leave the U.S. – particularly Washington and New York – in anticipation of a major terror attack to rival Sept. 11, according to an interview by a Pakistani journalist.

Abu Dawood told Hamid Mir, a reporter who has covered al-Qaida and met with Osama bin Laden, the attack is being coordinated by Adnan el-Shukrijumah and suggests it may involve some form of weapon of mass destruction smuggled across the Mexican border.

#1 that they would call for all muslims to leave. I had a joke in my head about empty 7-11's and a bunch of parked taxi's all over downtown Chicago.

#2 because they could get a device across the mexican border and people have been screaming for the government to concentrate on it for years.

It's going to really suck if it is a WMD attack, but people have been saying for years Bush has completely ignored the borders and ports despite the massive amount of spending for Homeland Security.. maybe this will re-energize a focus on doing something that will actually help secure the country.

Why can't we trust a muslim source? When Iran says they want to wipe Israel off the map, or bin Laden says he wants to bomb the States, do you trust them? Of course you do.

What? Hezbollah != Iran. I don't care what Fox News told you. They get arms and missiles from Iran. Just like Israel gets arms and missiles from us. Also, Iraq? We're the ones destroying Iraq...not Iran.

Maybe he thinks that most of the fighting in Iraq is coming from Iran rather than homegrown groups who are partaking in the civil war, or more sterile / politically convienent term, "sectarian violence"?

We're one of the worlds largest Arms dealers, we can't complain when another country does the same to promote their interests.

I think Iran's fingers are in all mideast unease. They fund groups, they supply them with weapons, and they undoubtedly have a say in everything that goes on. Notice how little peace there is in the whole territory.

Surely you don't think we're somehow removed from "having our fingers" in all of the mideast unease or unrest?

We fundregimes like Pakistan, who by all accounts is only our "friend" because we want to fly over their territory, and Israel.

There's really no difference except your (in the broad sense of the word) perspective on which side is moral and right and which is wrong.

Except that we're trying to stabilize the situation, and they're not. What do you want to happen?

Seriously, who's side are you on? Who do you think is right, and who do you think is wrong? It's ok if you say the US is wrong...it certainly wouldn't surprise me, and I'd believe it a lot more than if you said they were wrong.
