Oh and did I mention he's old?

...what's that have to do with them voting for Obama based on his skin color. It's not like Obama stands for any Republican issues. I could see them either not voting or voting independent, but not FOR Obama.

Seems racist to me
It is completely racist, the same way if someone said, "I don't like this guy's policies, but he is the only white candidate, so I'll vote for him." They are voting for someone based on his phenotype. That is completely wrong.

Do you feel there will be a difference in this countries race relations depending on whether McCain or Obama is elected? Will they be the same after 8 years of an Obama Presidency as the will after 8 years of a McCain Presidency? I'm not saying that Obama will make America a perfect land of racial harmony, but if you felt that he would improve that moreso than McCain, which I think is at least plausible, than I don't think that vote is racist. Its impossible to say for certain, but if you feel that there would be a difference and you vote based on that issue I don't think it can be called racist in the sense that most of you seem to say it can.

I see what you're saying here really, but you should be basing that decision on their policies about the issue of race relations, immigration, or whatever, rather than on the color of their skin
