| McCain's latest switch-a-roo I guess I could start with a basic question such as, how can you be campaigning (and siding with mighty US warlord premier bush) for drilling more oil around our coast...but at the same time say climate change is a problem and that we should not depend on that kind of fuel... ...and on the other hand he is changed AGAIN on another position. He we against this idea for the last 8 years and now he is for it? He makes John Kerry look rock solid in his positions. That is all. | ||||

| WERD. I like that he used the reference "futurists and politicians" for people who are against the off shore drilling. What the eff ever. I am not a "futurist." It makes it sound like science fiction, and I don't watch Star Trek. | ||||

| I agree, the whole Kerry flip flop thing was about a technical explanation of how a bill can change before finally being voted on that went awry and made for an excellent soundbite But McCain has seriously done a 180 on almost every issue important to him in the last 10 years.. I don't see how anyone can vote for this man with confidence that they know what they're getting. For me, it shows a lack of integrity and character to abandon such strong, long held principles to pander to the base he feels like he needs to win over, I'm guessing for a lot of people who are sick of the Republicans, the feeling is the same way. But, for Republicans.. I can't imagine how anyone can support him and think they're actually going to get the guy he's now portraying himself to be. The bottom line is no one really knows who or what McCain is anymore. | ||||

| I will defend people like him to a certain extent as their positions should modify a little as more and more information comes about... but why he changed gears on this position is really quite confusing to me. Mostly because it is kind of opposite to some of his other views and it really won't help our energy problems. | ||||

| I have no problem whatsoever with people changing their positions on issues when they genuinely believe they've come to some new realization about something However, in this case it's so blatantly politically motivated that I can't respect it at all. | ||||

| Well he's saying in essence, if you voted for George W. Bush and don't like his policies, you shouldn't be complaining because you voted for him. While someone who didn't vote for him or didn't vote has every right to complain because he's not your chosen leader. It makes sense to me.

So let's start getting some of our own, since we have it, and start using it instead of getting so much from the M.E. shitheads. | ||||

| I thought the best way to get alternative fuels was for the "MARKET" to demand it. Isn't the market demanding it now? So wouldn't drilling be a band aid and not really fix anything, and then just drive down the demand for an alternative, which is totally counter productive? | ||||
