With Congress passing a bill to help those affected by the foreclosures, I can't help but wonder...why? Why does the government feel it necessary to step in anytime our market or economy is affected by stupid business? Shouldn't we let it work itself out and get back to normal? $300 ...

| The US government is becoming the insurer of the stupid With Congress passing a bill to help those affected by the foreclosures, I can't help but wonder...why? Why does the government feel it necessary to step in anytime our market or economy is affected by stupid business? Shouldn't we let it work itself out and get back to normal? $300 billion dollars?!!!! They arrested those who did illegal things. Now they need to let people work it out for themselves. | ||||

| I agree, its one thing if a company did something illegal which screwed people out of money, those people should be helped, or if they did something that probably should be illegal, then thats a discussion we should have. But if they took a stupid gamble and lost, I don't see why the taxpayers should bail them out. Unfortunately our candidates don't seem to agree | ||||

| I had a good laugh when Senator Dodd proclaimed that this was a gift from Congress to help the independence of Americans. It's more like the continued enslavement of tax payers - Congress couldn't be more out of touch. | ||||
