When you are on the freeway...

And you see two cars bump into eachother, and it's not like "an accident", but they like connnected, and you witness it, are you supposed to stop to be like a witness?

I didn't think there was any more damage than headlight, neither stopped, they both pulled off....

Should I have stopped?

Well, they pulled off the freeway...

Like, neither of them actually stopped on the freeway, this old guy was trying to switch lanes, so he put his blinker on, and then stuck his hand out to signal, and I saw him trying to come into my lane, so I sped up, because A) I didn't want to drive behind him B) he was about to hit me. I sped up, and he backed off, he didn't even look in the blind spot, he just got back into his lane when I drove by. Well, he went to do the same thing, not looking, and an SUV was changing lanes at the same time as him, and they both came into the lane together, and bumped headlights. They both got off at the exit. I saw a piece of someone's car fly, they didn't like, "CRASH", they bumped...

Am I supposed to stop for bumps?

it would have been nice, but it's definitely not required...also, did you actually see who was at fault? Honestly, you sound like you don't approve of how the old man was driving, but if he and the SUV were both changing lanes can you say for certain who was right/wrong?

I can't say FOR SURE FOR SURE...

Because I saw them both come into the lane and connect, and seriously, the old guy just had his hand out still. If I were to call fault, then I would say it was the old guys, because he wasn't looking, and for some reason thought a hand signal made him priority to take the lane.

But, when I drove away, I thought, what damage really could have been done over deductable? And it didn't seem like much? Maybe a couple of scratches, and a headlight replacement for him?

But I couldn't say For Sure For Sure, and I probably would have asked the old guy why the hell he was sticking his hand out the window and using his blinker at the same time??

Didn't you know that Southern California has an actual dialect?

If the old guy was ahead of the SUV then he may not be at fault.......you probably weren't in the best position (or state of mind) to determine fault. Don't feel bad about stopping.

I've heard people overuse it in spoken conversation but I've never seen anyone type it out

Yeah, he wasn't ahead, the SUV was ahead of him, and he tapped her, they both should have seen the other, but the SUV definatley got there first, and in California, that's the #1 driving rule!

Yeah, sometimes the "like" sneaks out. It's worse on my Mommy Group's Message board, they all do it. I try to be the pillar of well spoken American English, being a major in English!

You have no idea. And in most places, Spanglish doesn't even work. It's not Bilingual at all.....
