| Well, that is a question that is hard to know where to start when answering. I consider Che to be next to Fidel and Nelson Mandela, the greatest and most inspiring men of the previous century. I suppose my admiration of his actions are a place to start. I admire his putting himself on the line for other people. He was willing to give his own life to free others from the chains of neocolonialism, poverty and desperation. I admire his pre-revolutionary days, the story of him tending to lepers generates a christ like image of the man. I admire him standing up to the Soviet Union and not just being willing to accept the Soviet line, no matter how important to the revolutions survival the Soviets were. Ideologically i obviously have much in common with Che. I rate his writing on the New Man as one of the most important pieces of Marxist Leninist literature. He identified the failures of the Soviet Union and Peoples Republic and laid a genuine foundation for how to achieve a genuine classless society. All that has stood between that idea and it becoming reallity is the hegemony of western capitalism lead by the United States. Some of his words and rallying cries provoke emotions that my ability with words cannot do justice to. As far as individual people go, no-one has had a greater impact on shaping my own world viewthan Ernesto Che Guevara Lynch. | ||||
