Software to create DVD's?

I am trying to take raw video files, AVI's, MPEG, MOV, whatever.. and put them on DVD. So far my method has been to use TMPGEnc and convert the file to MPEG and then use the Windows DVD maker that came with Vista to make the DVD.

Well this process is not working so well. TMPGEnc works well enough in creating the Mpeg file, but Windows DVD maker leaves a lot to be desired. You can't customize DVD menus. You can't compress or do anything about the size of the files. Actually Windows seems totally unaware of the size as it will go on it's merry way untill you run out of space on the DVD, at which point it simply gives you an error that it's out of space and thats that. This was with 2 hours worth of video. That's unacceptable in my opinion. 2 hours of video should EASILY fit on a standard DVD.
So is there any other piece of software out there that I could be using to do this? Something that works better than Windows DVD maker?

I always use Aimersoft DVD Creator, it can easily convert all popular video formats (AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DAT, MOV, FLV, etc) to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable and home DVD players, and also can combine video files into video slideshows with beautiful transition effects and a customizable menu, that's really nice, you can have a try
