I didn't prove your point, you are just having trouble understanding that there is a world outside of the US.

So the fact that Bush's actions has made the world a more dangerous and violent place doesn't matter to you?

he asked a specific question...will bush get credit for preventing attacks in the US. you answered by saying there have been thousands of attacks worldwide. then when it was pointed out that you didn't answer his question you went on with some asinine appeal to emotion and threw in a false dichotomy to boot........... come on. answer his question or ignore the thread.

my town's police chief pushed for and got passed a new rule about handguns.
i was wondering if it made my town safer.
someone pointed out the murders by handgun are WAY up in chicago this year.
apparently the actions of the police chief in my town have failed.

I was trying to draw attention to the fact that the question is flawed. I might as well walk into Iraq, draw a circle somewhere that there have been no attacks and declare that Iraq has been made safer. Will bush Get credit for the fact that there have been no attacks in Tuscaloosa? I'm sure there is a village in Iraq where there hasn't been any attacks. So what? What does that mean? It means nothing. Unless you are looking at the overall picture then whatever observation you make is pointless. Will he get credit? No. He won't because there is nothing to give credit for. He prevented attacks in the US by encouraging more attacks in other places. Overall death and violence goes up. That's not something that you want to take credit for and no one would draw an arbitrary line around some location on the globe and then declare Bush a success because there have been no attacks inside of this arbitrary circle.

OP isn't even saying bush did anything to prevent attacks on the US. He's asking if bush is going to get credit....he even said so when he posted "that's my point."

I understand you think bush is the antichrist but saying he will get credit for no attacks on US soil since 9/11 isn't a positive or a negative statement about his policies. It's just recognizing he's going to claim credit and people are going to give it. If anything it's a statement that people are stupid, not that bush did anything right.

I don't think he will get any credit for it. No one gives credit for avoiding the worst possible outcome. They expect you to atleast prevent the country from being destroyed. No one gets credit for saying " Hey atleast I didn't fuck EVERYTHING up, Just most of the stuff!".

my whole point of this thread was to show how history is viewed throughout time. Right now, some of you can't even think of giving George Bush credit for anything.

But in 30-50 years, it will be commonplace to believe that George Bush kept the country safe after 9/11 until he left office

They also might be focusing on the 180,000 americans that we sent to live in Iraq for the past 5 years. Why come over here to kill a few when they can walk across the street and kill americans in Iraq?
