Again, all i care about is using my tax dollars for something that is wasteful. If people want to continue recycling (which I would bet good money they would), then let the money come from THEIR pockets.

And some of it does already! Gas to take those items to recycling centers isn't free.

I was like "sweet, easy money!" and would throw the can away in the trash, just reserving the little tab. I got it like 25% filled... I probably could have made way more recycling all those cans I threw away.
I think that is true for most metals these days. People around here drive around on trash days looking for anything made of metal that people might have thrown out. I guess they collect it and sell it to someone and get a decent amount of money for it.
