The president cancelled several appointments previously scheduled in NYC today including a second news conference he was to hold at Venezuela's United Nations mission. | That's what I don't get either. Although, since the UN is here in NYC, I kind of understand, if they are indeed part of the UN. Considering they don't really do much with the UN, they still seem to want to come to the US using the UN as their excuse. The other thing that boggles me is this; why do the Americans seem to embrace these people coming to the US? Here is the latest: Iranian President Invited to Speak at CU - News | ||||

| Ooh I hope he does speak at Columbia. I'd love to see him speak in person and hear him handle questions from a college/grad-age crowd. Thanks for posting that. | ||||

| We can't deny leaders of UN member nations access to enter the country to speak at the UN simply because we disagree with their politics.. We did what we should have, IMO. Allowed them to speak while the US officials aren't paying too much attention to their ridiculous rhetoric. I think it's imperative that we provide adequate security for any foriegn leader who comes to the US.. we'd want the same for US Presidents. | ||||
