Working Out

Anyone have any good tricks to make themselves work out? lol, I have the hardest time making myself get over to the gym, but once I'm there, I enjoy it and I feel great afterwards. Dunno where that initial laziness comes from

I'm in the same boat right now. I like to work out, not at gyms though... I find I work out more when I'm in the mood. Eat right, get enough sleep and set aside a certain time during your day.

I find when I go out of my way to eat extra healthy I'm more likely to do something. Not being tired helps a lot as does knowing ahead of time that say between 7 and 8 is your time today to do something.

I'm definitely what most people would consider to be in shape, I'm not really looking to build much muscle, just tone up a bit more.

Making it a part of your routine is really the only way. You do plenty of stuff you might "not want to do", like take out the trash, vaccume, go to work?

But, it needs to be done. Just make this another one of those things, IMO.

That's a good way of looking at it, make it a chore.

Well, chore has such a negative connotation.. but I guess that's right. Every chore has benefits you enjoy

Just start doin pushups in front of your computer. You really don't need a gym to get a good workout in. The added weights help, but if you're just looking to get in shape, tone and feel good... working out in home can be a lot more beneficial. Think of the time you spend driving to the gym.. 5-10 minutes each way.. getting in and out, waiting for equipment. Etc. That's all time wasted minutes wasted. If you would just stay home and spent a half hour each day while watching your favorite tv show or browsing libertylounge between reps, you'd feel a lot better and possibly inspire you to go hit the weights.

Take care of your body now man, you'll appreciate it in 20 years.

I know how to work out, and I really enjoy weight training... I just get real lazy when I'm about to actually get up and go to the gym.

I think it'd be a lot better if I had someone to workout with too, but that would also make doing evo-fitness more difficult.

Having someone helps a lot. I bought myself new running shoes and still haven't worn them. The last time I ran was when my girlfriend took me running a couple months ago now. I keep telling myself it's too hot. But if she were willing to go running with me I'd throw my shoes on in a heartbeat and fight the sun... speaking of which I should ask her.

not much to do except just force yourself to atleast get there. if its all good once you get there, then it should be easy. im really lazy. ill force myself to go, and still not want to work out.

I want to start doing more evo-fitness type stuff, so I need to write out a plan for each workout day... like, which exercises to do so I can move quickly from machine to machine. Otherwise I just look around the room and see what I feel like working.

'working out' as in the gym, or exercise in general?

The easiest way is routine. But remember, eating is > working out. You have to eat right or the results won't be there and you'll get discouraged and stop going.

I eat pretty well. I try to hit up meat and veggies every night, though it's fairly time consuming to do that, so I do slack off occasionally

I do have some protein shake stuff for days when I can't get enough naturally... and sometimes when I do
