Jesse Jackson says the N word

Someone from Fox released it to the media. O'Rielly is pissed.

In any event here's the quote:

The longer exchange was first reported by TVNewser.com.

Fox sources say there are no immediate plans to air the additional portions of the tape.

Fox's Bill O'Reilly, who broke the "nuts" story, says the racial epithet was leaked by a "weasel."

Discussing the revelation with Fox anchor Shepard Smith, O'Reilly said he "held it back" because "it was not relevant to the general subject -- one civil rights leader disparaging another, over policy."

"We made a decision to hold back a remark that did not advance the story in any way, shape or form -- would have put Jackson in a worse position," O'Reilly said. "We don't want to hurt Jesse Jackson. We're not in business to do that. So we held it back. And then some weasel got the whole thing and leaked it out to the Internet, and here we are."

The top-rated cable anchor said he doesn't know who leaked it, but quipped: "I have the waterboard over here. ... We'll find out."
It's getting very little attention because it was broke online. But it might get more play.

Tell me again why we can't say the N word Jesse:

How did Jesse Jackson handle Imus's Nappy Headed Hoes comment?

"This was not a slip of the lip," Jackson said outside the Tower. "This was a conversation ... (and) corporate sponsors have a role to play in not sponsoring these acts of racial bigotry."

He had the authority to release it. If he had been the one to release it on his show he would have gotten the ratings and the revenue from it. For some reason I doubt he was personally involved in the leak. It wouldn't serve him to let it leak when he had the rights and access to the video. I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest reason he was upset it got leaked though was because he didn't get to break it himself on his show.

Al Sharpton uses this as an opportunity to talk to the media.
wcbstv.com - Sharpton 'Very Disappointed' With Jesse Jackson
"I think this certainly does not reflect the Reverend Jackson that we all know and love," Sharpton said. "I think that we have to be consistent. We have denounced the N-word at National Action Network and other groups. Those of us and many of us who have used it privately said we must refrain from it if we're going to challenge people using it publicly."
I think if Jackson were white he would be singing a different tune. I don't think it's possible for someone to use deragatory and degrading terms regarding a race and fight for racial equality without being a complete hypocrite.
