| Air America on MSNBC? There's chatter on the internet that Rachel Maddow is going to be hired by MSNBC. The president says they have a very short list of people they want to give shows to and she is at the top of that list. He says at some point she should have a show, but he does not know when. The problem is that Gregory, Abrams and Olbermann all have extended contracts that are not up any time soon. However, in the case of Matthews his contract is up next year. I don't think they'd get rid of Matthews, but they definitely want to give time to Maddow.
It's clear that MSNBC would never harm their darling Olbermann so whoever they remove is likely going to be a low rated news show. MSNBC seems to be going the path of Fox News of filling up their daily line-up with opinion shows... Olbermann, Matthews, Maddow, etc... Hard to see much of a difference here between the two stations.

Just do your investigavtive reporting and tell me what you found. Just the facts mam. let me decide about what opinions I want to form regarding the news. I don't need some blowhard telling me what my opinion should be. It seems like the news networks are just moving more and more towards that sort of sensationalisitic garbage. It really does people a disservice.

I think the notion that MSNBC offsets Fox News is a valid point, but I disagree with it on premise. I don't think any network should be so openly biased or that any of their stories should be openly biased. The quality of our media is going too far downhill.

| MSNBC "offsets/counters" FOXNews and vice versa.....and so we're left with objectivity? CBS, NBC, and ABC tend to lean Left, who "offsets" them? Who then is the "counter weight" to the NYTimes, LATimes, ChicagoT, or the AtlantaH? As well, I would say MSNBC happens to lean so far left as to define subjective. I submit Fox may counter the big three news outlest, the Wall Street Journal trying to offset the major newspapers. | ||||

| Imagine if Fox News did this:
For those who can't see at work, they introduced a John McCain quote then rather than follow up with McCain giving the quote they played a video of the Joker, then apologized and read the quote which they had on hand.
