Opinion on "International" Textbooks?

What's LL's opinion on "International Edition" textbooks? Obviously the page #'s will be off a bit from the professors when he/she assigns material to read, but they're over half off. Will I be able to sell them? (through facebook probably...) not that it really matters because even if I don't sell them I'll have saved a small amount.

Worth it? I'm about to pull the trigger on $240 worth of textbooks brand new on ebay for $110 (international editions)

I've never heard of that before.

Although, I just did a quick Google search and supposedly they say this on them: "If you purchased this book within the United States or Canada you should be aware that it has been wrongfully imported without the approval of the Publisher or the Author."

I've never heard of international text books to be honest. Some of the material may be off and if they're science type books where measurements and such would be off you may have some problems. Otherwise I'd imagine they would be fairly similar in most cases. You'd be taking your chances obviously.

Yeah they work, i've bought a few by mistake online. One thing though, I wouldn't pay $110 for an international edition. They cost no more than 20 dollars in India, pakistan ect. You should be able to get them for $40-60. My Indian TA made fun of me for paying $50 for one.
