| Murtha's congressional seat challenged Jack Murtha's congressional seat is being challenged by a conservative newcomer, Bill Russell. Russell is a member of the armed services and was offended by Murtha's behavior regarding the marines at Haditha. He is running a campaign against Murtha, but he is still in the military until August 1st and therefore is not allowed to actively campaign until after that point. That didn't stop him from raising five times what Murtha has. Bill Russell has managed to scrape together $670k compared to Murtha's $119k. It looks as if he can be a strong challenger to Murtha's seat. In my opinion Murtha is one of the most unethical and one of the dirtiest politicians in Washington. I would love to see him get the boot. It's going to be an uphill battle for Russell though because Murtha has bought a lot of votes through tax payer earmarks. William Russell - Congresspedia
