| Ehud Olmert to step down as Israeli PM Looks like Olmert has said that he will be stepping down once the Kadima Party selects a replacement for him this September. I am rather glad to see Olmert go for a couple reasons: I didn't find him to be a suitable Israeli leader to handle peace talks with the Palestinians, especially after the 2006 Gaza Plan was initiated, I disliked the way he handled the 2006 Israeli-Lebanon war, he was simply too corrupt, I didn't want him to take over as PM anyway. Do any of you have any opinions as to who should replace him? During the last elections I was more supportive of Tzipi Livni than the other candidates. I don't care for several of her stances, but I felt that she was better than the others who were running. Last edited by Dylith; 07-30-2008 at 07:18 PM.. | ||||

| I have to admit that I'm not really up to date on Israeli politics as of late, so I don't really know anything about Tzipi Livni or anyone else who might take Olmert's place. I am glad to see Olmert step down, though. I don't think he's handled his position well at all, and I have to agree that the way he handled the Lebanon issue was a complete disaster. What do you think makes her better than the other candidates? | ||||
